Phil works with national legislators in Washington, Texas state representatives, and the governing bodies of the 32 local municipalities in the Dallas BA’s jurisdiction.
Crone developed the green building program for the Dallas BA. The program, now known as Green Built Texas, went on to win local, state and national awards and serves as an important policy tool for the Association. The program is now the Association’s largest non-dues revenue program and is utilized by dozens of Dallas BA members, including many of the area’s largest volume builders. Crone has served as the point person for government affairs and political action efforts, which have resulted in numerous successes ranging from fee reductions and code changes to improved development regulations and permitting processes.
Crone completed the evening law program at Southern Methodist University, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 2009. In 2012 he passed the Texas Bar Exam and was admitted to the Bar in May. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Purdue University.
