The first time I visited Forney, TX, I was surprised to realize that the entire population was smaller than my high school graduating class. But I fell instantly in love with rich farming history, the friendliness of a football Friday night, and the sweetness that you only get in a small town. Fast forward twenty years, and I have had the pleasure to run my own business, have my customers becomes my friends, and watch the town blossom just like the cotton plants that used to grow. Now we grow neighborhoods and schools, and I’m blessed to be a part of the business community that has helped this town prosper. My store, Flower Basket, started out as a dream in a horticulture class at Texas A&M and continues to be my happy place in downtown. I’ve been a member of the Forney Chamber of Commerce since I opened my doors in 1994, and, this year, I’m once again Chairman of the Board of Directors. It’s a good day in Forney, TX, just twenty peaceful minutes east of Dallas. You’re welcome to come see me at Flower Basket, 201 N Bois d’Arc St, Monday through Saturday. I look forward to the visit!
